cupping

Cupping is a method of the Chinese medicine in which a vacuum is created with a cupping head. This therapy is mainly performed on the back, either by placing the cupping head on individual acupuncture points or by sliding it over the entire back as a cupping massage.

Cupping moves the Qi in the body, which can relieve pain and tension. The advantage of this type of massage is that it has a deeper effect than classical massage. Therefore, cupping is often combined with acupuncture in pain therapy. This treatment is often perceived as pleasant. The vacuum may cause bleeding into the skin, small bruises are formed. These are harmless and disappear after about 2-3 days.
